Whether you wear yours chemically processed, natural, colored, curly or straight, there's a product out there for you. Softening Cream Cleanser Photo Courtesy TLK Fusion This cleanser smells pleasant, but offers a light lather, so it was a little less creamy than I expected. Still, it's a decent shampoo that cleans the hair without leaving it feeling stripped. Silky Kinks Hydrating Conditioner Photo Courtesy TLK Fusion I'm a firm believer that you can never have enough good conditioners, of the rinse-out, leave-in and deep varieties, so I'm always willing to try a new conditioner. This one is comparable to other good products I've reviewed. It's great for detangling wet hair and left my hair feeling soft and moisturized. Out of all the products I tested in this line, this was the runaway favorite. Refreshing Leave In Moisturizer Photo Courtesy TLK Fusion If your hair is very dry, using a leave-in conditioner on a regular basis can help improve your moisture levels, leading to more supple, less breakage-prone tresses. I found this leave-in interchangeable with the Kink Cream (see below); the instructions for both are similar, and either works well as a prep on damp hair. This moisturizer is a thick liquid, perfect for coating hair in an even layer. While you can use it under styling products, you can also apply it alone -- it's a good choice for adding moisture without weighing down tresses. Alternately, use it as a setting lotion for flexi-rods, rollers or for twists, coils and braids. It may be a better option as a leave-in if your hair requires a creamier product than the Refreshing Moisturizer (above), but either product will work well as a post-shampoo and conditioning treatment. Texture Defining Gel Photo Courtesy TLK Fusion If you want to define your curls, then a good, water-based product is important. Many curl-defining products come in gel form like this one. My findings on the Texture Defining Gel are mixed. First, because everything else in this line smells so good, I expected the gel to smell similarly, but I admit I was kind of disappointed; it smelled a little too much like chemicals to me. On the plus side, the formula is very thick, which is a good thing. At least you don't have to worry about gel dripping everywhere. It goes on clean and evenly, and very importantly, it doesn't flake or dry hard. This gel cut down on my frizz a little, but per the Current Buzz at the brand site, these products aren't designed to beat your curls or kinks into submission. If you love your natural texture, this gel won't change it, which is great if rocking a 'fro is important to you. You'll get a little bit of control without making your hair look like something it's not.
