Shampooing in the Fall
Oct 3rd 2011, 07:00

Now that summer is over, you may want to rethink your hair care routine. Some of the products you use might change; for example, a heavier cream may be necessary now instead of a lightweight oil. With the absence of high humidity, that flat iron may see more use.

Another area that could change is in the frequency of shampoos. During the summer, many of us may either shampoo or at least wet-and-go more often, due to swimming and the sweating that comes from being outdoors in such hot weather.

So what's a good shampoo routine for fall? It's really no different than for any other time of year, as there's a healthy minimum for cleansing black hair that leaves it less prone to dryness.

Look for ultra-hydrating formulas and/or natural products that are gentle as can be on your tresses and you'll make it through fall and winter just fine.
